The Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board (Board) will hold a meeting on analogues on April 16, 1991, from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and on April 17, 1991, from 8:30 A.M. to early afternoon. Board members will be briefed on the use of analogues to assess the long-term performance of a potential site for the disposal of spent nuclear fuel and high-level defense waste.
Two panels of the Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board (Board) will hold a joint meeting on March 26, 1991, in Dallas, Texas, to review the quality assurance (QA) program that the Department of Energy (DOE) has implemented for the design and construction of an exploratory shaft facility at Yucca Mountain, Nevada.
The Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board (NWTRB) has invited Dr. John W. Bartlett, Director of the DOE's Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM), and Mr. David H. Leroy, recently confirmed Nuclear Waste Negotiator, as well as representatives of industry, environmental organizations, public policy groups, and state interests to speak at the Board's meeting on January 16 and 17, 1991, on the disposal of high-level radioactive waste (HLW).
The Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board (NWTRB) today released its Second Report to the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Secretary of Energy. The Second Report tracks progress on topics that were identified in the Board's First Report (March 1990) and discusses issues central to determining early on the suitability of the proposed site at Yucca Mountain, Nevada.
