WHO WE ARE

The U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board (Board) is an independent federal agency in the executive branch of the U.S. Federal Government. The Board's purpose is to perform independent technical and scientific peer review of the U.S. Department of Energy's activities related to managing and disposing of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.  The Board reports its findings & recommendations to Congress and the Secretary of Energy.

Spring Meeting Postponed in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic
The Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board is following the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and is postponing its April 29, 2020, Spring Meeting.

The health and safety of meeting participants, as well as the Board members and staff, are of the upmost importance to the Board.  Once it is appropriate to resume normal operations, we plan to reschedule the meeting. Please watch the website for additional information. We look forward to your participation in our future meetings.
